Eagles get combined no-hitter

Sam Shatrawka and Colton Sullivan made some Barneveld baseball history Tuesday when they combined to no-hit Albany.
Their efforts helped Barneveld to a 5-1 win over the Comets in a Six Rivers baseball game. Shatrawka worked four innings, struck out six and walked five. He gave up the lone run on a bases loaded walk.
Sullivan fanned three in his three innings of work.
Brycen Sorensen drove in the first Barneveld run with a single in the first. He sent in Sullivan who had reached on a bunt hit. Sorensen finished the day 2x4.
Wes Williams had a two run double to highlight a three run third.
Trevor Siegenthaler also had a big day at the plate for the Eagles. He went 3x4 and drove in two runs.
Todd Nechkash had the eighth hit for the Eagles' total.
"We were a little rusty as three guys in the line-up had just returned from an 11 day trip to Mexico," said coach Lance Schmitz. "They hadn't thrown the baseball much before warm-ups. They had some problems at the plate but they will catch up."
Schmitz added it was good to see hits up and down the line-up.
The Cardinals travel to Highland Friday for a doubleheader.
