Dodgers get baseball season underway

While most teams have been hoping their baseball field gets playable the Dodgers got their season opener in on the turf fields at Woodside Sports Complex, Wisconsin Dells.
The Dodgers got strong performances from three pitchers and hit the ball hard all day against Mount Horeb but the Vikings scratched out enough runs to win 4-1.
The Vikings scored first when Austin Stram singled, stole second, took third on a ground out to second and scored on a balk.
They added a run in the second when Justin Gorman, who had walked, was sent in on a triple by David Droessler.
The Dodgers narrowed the lead to 2-1 in the third. Jake Brokish was hit by a pitch and eventually scored on an rbi single by Cole Sullivan.
An outfield error and an rbi single by Cubby Osterloo put some distance between the two teams and made it 3-1.
Gorman scored the last run when he singled and scored on David Droessler's double.
Sullivan started and went the first two. He surrendered a run on three hits and walked one.
Brian Simmons went the next two, giving up three hits, two runs and walking one.
Jordan Larson finished the last three with a run, three hits, a walk and three punch-outs.
Levi Nagel had half the Dodgeville hits with a 2x3 performance at the plate.
Sullivan and Caleb Grady had the other two singles.
'It was a good first game out," said coach Michael Cleary. "We did some things really well, and we saw where we could make some improvements. Ideally, you'd like to get a win right out of the gate, but I think these young men will be hungry regardless of the outcome."
