Dodge-Point soccer take three in a row

The Dodge-Point soccer team is on a roll.
The Dodge-Pointers picked up three straight wins, all of them with a prolific offense and some show stopping defense mixed in.
Mauston fell to the Dodge-Pointers last Tuesday 7-3.
DP scored first when Zach Nelson and Daniel Cruz hit a pair of early goals. Mauston them scored twice to tie the first half at 2-2 and took an early 3-2 lead with a goal to start the second half.
Isaac Nagel then took a pass from Francisco Chiosi and scored to tie. Declan McGraw followed with a successful shot on goal to put the Dodge-Pointers ahead to stay.
The squad closed out their scoring with a goal by Richie Haase (Nelson assist), Nelson (McGraw assist) and McGraw (Nelson assist).
"We were not sharp the first half and played down to their level," coach Kyle Glynn said.
That changed after a halftime speech that was "spirited."
"We came out the second half and played much better," Glynn said.
Thursday the Dodge-Pointers handled Richland Center 5-2.
Nelson got the DP squad untracked with a goal at the 16 minute mark. At 27 minutes Chad Yeager hit a successful shot and goal for a 2-0 first half lead.
McGraw started the second half with a successful shot at the 50 minute mark and the Dodge-Pointers scored again three minutes later thanks to a shot by Chiosi.
Richland Center tallied its first goal at 54 minutes and their second at the 82 minute mark.
Josh Swanson put the finishing touches on the win when he scored as the seconds ticked off to end the game.
"We got off to a good start and the subs got considerable playing time," Glynn said. "Richland Center scored twice the second half against our reserves but overall we played pretty well."
The Dodge-Pointers took to the road Monday in a game moved up because of Mineral Point's homecoming activities Thursday and powered past Prairie du Chien 7-1.
It was revenge of sorts as the Blackhawks tied the Dodge-Pointers their first meeting.
This time there was no question on the outcome.
At six minutes Yeager took a pass from Haase and made it a quick 1-0.
At nine minutes McGraw assaulted
the goals and scored.
Nelson got the next two goals at 20 and 22 minutes then set up Yeager and McGraw for goals at 29 minutes and 41 minutes.
Jack Schickel put on the finishing touches with a goal at the 89th minute.
"We played a good game overall," Glynn said. "We dominated from the start with six goals in the first 30 minutes. We came out strong and our subs got playing time the second half.
The Dodge-Pointers are now 5-7-1.
