Dodge-Point soccer tops RC

After losing to Lodi in a non-conference match Thursday, the Dodgeville-Mineral Point soccer team won its first match of the season Tuesday - a 5-0 SWC conference win over visiting Richland Center.
Junior mid-fielder Zach Nelson came away with a hat trick, scoring three goals.
He found the net for the game's first score in the first half and then came up with two in the second. Only the second one was assisted - coming from Brazilian exchange student Francisco Chiosi.
Declan McGraw scored in the first half as did Richie Haase. McGraw's score came on a pass from Isaac Nagel while Haase's was unassisted.
In net, Noah Goetzke only had to make two saves all day.
"We played really solid overall today," said Dodge-Point coach Kyle Glynn.
"We dominated the entire match. I'm happy with the result."
The win put the Dodge-Point team at 1-5-1 in the early season.
They host conference favorite Platteville/Lancaster Thursday and Sun Prairie Saturday.
