Let your voice be heard, VOTE
By Brooke Bechen-bbechen@thedodgevillechronicle.com
as we prepare for the night shift, when we will wait for results of the Nov.
4 election to come in. One by one municipalities will post their election
results, and the picture of which candidates took which seat will become
clearer as the night goes on.
Although we will be busy, there will be one thing I will certainly make
time for that morning. And that is to vote.
Voting is your right. It's a way that your voice can be heard. And who
doesn't want their voice to be heard, especially on important topics that not
only affect you, but your whole community?
Iowa County residents will be asked on Nov. 4 whether they would like
Bloomfield to remain under county-ownership and operation. Sixty people
call Bloomfield their home, and chances are you know at least one of them.
Residents in the Dodgeville School District will also be asked a referendum
question on Nov. 4, whether or not the school board should be authorized
to spend $48 million to build a new, more modern high school, remodel
the existing high school and close Ridgeway Elementary School.
You may have even attended Ridgeway Elementary School or graduated
from Dodgeville High School yourself. Again, you probably know someone
who will be directly affected by the votes cast either way on Nov. 4.
Three candidates will be going after the 51st Assembly seat, including our
mayor of Dodgeville.
These issues will affect you and your community. These candidates will
be representing you and your community.
So please get out and vote on Nov. 4. Let your voice be heard!
