Dodgers close out season with win over Hornets
But, that did not stop them for dominating play against the Hornets and finish there season on a 45-28 win.
The Dodgers put six scores on the board, five as touchdowns and one a 30 yard field goal by Jordan Olson. Olson also booted extra points after each score and averaged 43 yards on kick-offs.
Brady Wetter celebrated Halloween early with a monster of a night. The junior halfback scored four times and picked up 216 yards on 36 carries.
Senior Christian Shepler scored twice and picked up 23 yards on four carries.
Jordan Larson had an efficient night passing, hitting 4 of 7 for 46 yards with one interception.
Cris Francia grabbed three passes for 41 yards.
The Hornets stuck around for awhile and even had an early lead or two.
Noah Johnson drilled Austin Haas with a 10 yard scoring pass in the first quarter which was answered by Wetter.
A six yard run by Brandon Banker and a two point Johnson to Haas conversion pass gave the Hornets a 14-7 lead.
But the Dodgers took over with two touchdowns from Shepler and three from Wetter to lead 45-14.
The Hornets got two late scores on a 12 yard Andrew Gander run and a one yard plunge from Chandler Manning.
Twenty five Dodgeville defenders had their hand in a tackle and were led by Bryce Olson, Christian Shepler, and Lance Johnsrud.
"I am extremely proud of how our team competed this year," said coach Ryan Bohnsack. "Except for the game against Lancaster we were in every game. The goes to show how much fight this group of guys has in them. We would like to thank all the senior boys and the rest of the team for making this year special and wish everyone great success in their next season."
