Along the Ad Routes

through Spring Green and the Dodgeville area to Mineral Point. People said
things started right off Friday afternoon with good crowds and Saturday was
tremendous. One artist said she had complaints because there wasn't
enough parking by her studio while another said she had a huge line of people
waiting to buy things. By Sunday crowds had dispersed by quite a bit,
but there were still enough people around to keep things hopping almost the
entire day. Now, with the tour running from Baraboo to Mineral Point while
things were dying down a little on Sunday around here, they may have been
busier at the starts and finishes. Above, Dodgeville's Karen Fitzsimons,
takes a break from showing off her works to chat with former Dodgeville
residents Luther and Joyce Johnson with Sheila Marmorstone (who brought
her a salad for lunch) at left. Karen's studio is her home on Clarence Street
where acrylic paintings and abstract assemblages are featured.

Sunday was a beautiful fall day with temperatures in the high 50s. The
weather for this week is supposed to be very nice, sunny and little chance
for rain with the weekend looking great!

Monday evening was our "Best of" reception where we handed out
awards to all the businesses who were named "Best" by our readers. Several
of the winners were first timers with many of the "old reliables" staying on
top. For a look at all the winners and many who were mentioned, check out
the special section in this week's issue. There are "Thank you" ads and photos
from a lot of the winners, along with a complete listing. If you see our
own "Shelly Roh" she's the one mostly responsible for that production!
