Dodge-Point soccer advances, tops RV

Dodgeville-Mineral Point's soccer team won a play-in tournament 8/9 seed game with Edgerton Saturday at Harris Park in Dodgeville.
It took a Jack Schickel pass to Zach Nelson for the winning tally with 17 seconds in the second overtime for the 3-2 win.
Schickel passed to an open spot and Nelso beat the Edgerton defender to the ball and put it past the goalie.
The two teams failed to score in the first half as both teams were feeling out the other.
Edgerton scored twice before the Dodge-Point team came alive.
"We started off a little slow, but after we found ourselved trailing 2-0 we seemed to come alive realizing that this might be the end to our season.," said Dodge-Point coach Kyle Nelson.
With about 15 minutes left in regulation, Nelson scored on a free kick. He then beat the netminder with about 5;00 left to knot things at two.
Dodge-Point Noah Goetzke helped with the win.
"Noah made a couple of real good, key saves to keep us in the game," Glynn pointed out.
"We totally dominated the last 20 minutes of regulation too," the coach said.
The win pitted them at #1 Mount Horeb Tuesday.
