Cardinals sweep Comets
The different rotations caused some glitches at times but the team stayed with the game plan and turned back Cassville 3-0.
The Cardinals cruised to a 25-8 win in the first set then outlasted the Comets in the final two sets 26-24 and 25-22.
Wineski was glad the entire line-up got quality minutes on the court and was especially pleased with how the team played the first game.
"I'll take the way we played the first set any time," Wineski said.
"Playing everyone threw us off a little with the different rotations but we took all three," the coach added. "There were some intensity problems at times but we worked through them."
Brenna Bomkamp and Mackenzie Drury both had nine kills and Jessica Kosharek contributed six. Bomkamp also had four blocks.
Karen McMannes dished off 16 assists and Caitlin Wienkes came up with 25 digs. Kosharek led in aces with a pair.
"Jessica had a very good night," said Wineski.
The Cardinals will be at Benton tonight which will be "Pink Night." Proceeds will go to fighting breast cancer.
The Cardinals are now 6-5 in Six Rivers West play.
