Along the Ad Routes

It's pretty sure, but we don't have the final totals in to see if our own
Todd Novak has been elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly yet.
When the voting was over on November 4th he had won by 59 votes,
but there were still outstanding absentee ballots (until 4:00 p.m. Friday,
November 7) and there is likely to be a recount - with Dick Cates having
until November 14 (three days after canvassing takes place) to ask
for one. Anyway, it will be a few days before we officially know who
our state representative is!

I don't know for sure who to thank, but gasoline prices dipped below
$3.00/gallon last week. That marks the first time since December four
years ago that gasoline has been below that magical $3.00 figure. With
that I'm not sure that Dodgeville was below $3.00 at that time as we are
historically higher than most places - but this time we are pretty true to
form at $2.99.9! The lowest I had run across by the end of last week was
$2.95.9 in Spring Green.

Saturday morning, Terry Carroll, Bob Kratochwill and myself (3 of the
4 Amigos) had breakfast at Country Kitchen in Dodgeville. A group of
around 10 came in and we were questioning each other as to what that
group would be so early in the morning. Curious Bob called one of the
women over as she was walking by and we got our answer. They were
a group of bicyclists from Madison who just decided to take a ride. This
group left Madison at 12:30 p.m. Friday, stopped at Hooterville Inn in
Blue Mounds for lunch and in Ridgeway for a refreshment/pit stop and
came to Dodgeville and stayed overnight at Pine Ridge Motel. Another
group left Friday evening and one of them couldn't get into Pine Ridge
so they stayed at Super 8. After the first group ate and left CK the second
group came in. They all belong to the Bombay Bikers Club, but this
ride wasn't club sanctioned - they just decided it would be a good time
to do it. They have been biking out here for the past four years. They
said it was kind of cold and windy, but they know how to dress appropriately!

I got a chance to attend the Dodgeville High School musical
"Anything Goes" Saturday afternoon. I heard that they had to bring
more chairs out for the Friday night performance with 280 already out!
Allie Horton has a great voice, playing one of the leads in "Reno
Sweeny". I felt all of the singing was pretty darn good as were the dance
scenes as was the rest of the show. Other main players were: Hunter
Holum, Jordan Mumm, Andrew Schurman, Morgan Storkson, Maggie
Godfrey and Tristan Wilkins - all doing a superb job! The above photo
shows Allie Horton being raised up by a pair of sailors in one of the
scenes with dancers and singers also in the moment!

Oh, if you want to look at some of the musical photos they are on our

We've got a FREE movie scheduled for "Small Business Saturday"
(the day after Black Friday - November 29th) at the Dodge Theatre.
Keep that in mind as well as some other things happening in downtown
Dodgeville that day - more coming in the way of advertising and stories
in the Chronicle and AD-VISOR!
