My Hollywood Experience
By Kayla Barnes-
would be meeting someone famous like Quinton Aaron. I am an avid movie
watcher. I have several favorite actors that I love to watch. And I am like
many Americans who have seen the movie The Blind Side over and over
again and have a copy at home.
I treated the interview like any other inteview; I got my pens ready, put
batteries in my recorder and wrote down questions to ask Quinton. Never
once did I realize that I was really meeting a famous actor. I have met other
famous people before, like NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth before he was
truly the great racer like he is now, but it was a quick picture. I never got to
talk to him in depth like I did Quinton.
I wasn't nervous; at all. Not until I got back into my car and looked at the
autograph (signed With All My Love, Quinton Aaron, which has been laminated
now) and checked out the picture I got with him (which is in a frame
with the autograph) that I truly got nervous and giddy. It was exciting! I had
met someone from Hollywood! We actually talked and had a conversation.
It was really real! It was pretty awesome and I was proud of myself for not
freaking out or getting star struck.
He was like any normal person, besides being 6'8" and having to duck
under each door frame to get through. Like most people I meet, he towered
over me. I am only 5'2" (on a good day) and it was incredible to see the
size of him. But besides his size and his famous status, he was the sweetest
and nicest guy anyone could meet (and a really great singer). He answered
all my questions to the best of his knowledge and was cooperative with
everything I threw at him.
I am excited that he graced the small towns in Wisconsin with his presences
along with the cast and crew of Halfway. I can't wait until the movie
is finished and we get to see it on the big screen. Hopefully he will come
back so more people can meet him.
