Iowa-Grant/Highland's Jenks to run at state XC
The Iowa-Grant senior ran a 17:40 to be the 5th individual to cross the finish line that wasn't on a qualifying team.
Boscobel junior Dakota Kauffman won the race in 16:32 and will also be running as an individual.
Darlington junior Jaden Komprood was runner-up in 16:39 and will run with his team that took the top spot with 46 team points.
Albany will be the other team representative, scoring 69 points.
The rest of the team scores were: Boscobel 83, Poynette 117, Lancaster 152, Waterloo 176, Iowa-Grant/Highland 209, Parkview 222, Pardeeville 228, Belleville 258, Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld 260, Fennimore 329, Riverdale 361, Rio/Fall River 381, St. Ambrose Academy 423.
Also qualifying as an individual were Belleville junior Tyler Gilbertson 17:23, Riverdale sophomore Brian Mathews 17:23 and Poynette senior Cameron Vinson.
Boscobel senior Keely Foley kept on her winning ways with a 20:08 time and the top spot with her team also qualifying in second with 82 points. Poynette took the top team spot at 44.
Belleville sophomore Noelle Marie was second in 20:39 and qualified as an individual.
Other team scores were: Darlington 85, Lancaster 104, Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld 164, Albany 172, Belleville 218, Madison Country Day/Abundant Life 218, Parkview 238, Fennimore 265, Pecatonica/Argyle 269, Rio/Fall River 280, Iowa-Grant/Highland 325.
Iowa-Grant/Highland was led by junior Angela Melby in 32nd at 23:33.
Then came sophomore Julia Cockroft 66th in 26:48, junior Makayla Dicken 72nd in 28:05, junior Amber Heard 77th in 29:00 and junior Caitlyn Fowell 78th in 29:20.
Other individual qualifiers were: Albany freshman Emma Guenther 20:42, Parkview sophomore Camryn Bartness 220:59, Albany junior Sydnee Woyak 21:04, North Crawford junior Nina Zastrow 21:20.
The D3 boys will kickoff the state run at 11:30 Saturday at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
The D3 girls run at 1:30.
