Last weekend was garage sale weekend in Dodgeville. I got around OK on Saturday, but Friday I ran into a few of those "crazy" garage sale people. I was heading south on Union Street and a vehicle pulled out in front of me. Another was going around parked traffic and heading right toward me. I averted any mishap at that time, but the vehicle that was in front of me was heading along about 5 MPH. The driver put on a right turn directional and then must've realized the turn they needed to make was to the left. Anyway the vehicle turned left. It was a good thing I wasn't in a hurry or I just may've gone around the vehicle on the left - the direction it ended up turning.

Sunday was supposed to be the first Dodgeville Knights Home Talent baseball game of the season. League play begins next Sunday (May 4th). But Saturday night/Sunday morning we received a little rain and then the winds began blowing and the temperature felt like it was round 32 degrees outside. The game was cancelled, but some members of the team decided to practice anyway. Nothing like going into your first league game of the season as your first game of the season!

It's May already (today is May 1st) and I don't believe most of the high school teams have 25% of their games in. That either will mean a lot of games will be played in the next three weeks or so - OR the schedules will be shortened big time! Some of state meets/tournaments are set for the first week of June with the latest one being the middle of June - that only about six weeks away.

It wasn't the best of weather for the Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championships Sunday at Harris Park in Dodgeville. It was a good thing the building could be closed off!

The Dodgeville Lioness Club held its 35th Anniversary banquet Sunday at the Dodger Bowl (see above photo). I hadn't had any pie to eat since Lent began and ended, so I bought a couple of pies at their auction that Larry Springer volunteered to do. The two pies cost me $100 between them, but it was worth it because if I tried to make one, it would take me a lot more $$$$ than that before I would get one to come out!
