Area cagers finish careers as all-stars
In Division 5 boys Barneveld's Jeremy Whitish tallied two points and grabbed five rebounds for the Division 5 South, an 85-70 winner over Division 5 North. One of Jeremy's coaches was his father, Mike.
Jeremy also had an assist and a steal.
A pair of Mineral Point Pointers led Division 4 South to an 82-75 win over D4 North.
Chanler Leonard was perfect from the field and the free throw line for 12 points. He hit all five of his shots and both free throws.
Leonard also grabbed six rebounds, had an assist and blocked a shot.
Teammate Trevor Wend-hausen scored two points and grabbed four rebounds in the win. He had an assist and two steals.
On the girls side, Barneveld's McKenzie Sporle put up nine points and picked up three rebounds along with a steal in 19 minutes on the court for the Division 5 South. Her team was bested by the North squad 72-48.
In Division 3 play, former Highland star Leigh Drury played for the South squad which lost to the North 79-70.
Drury, who played her last two years at Richland Center, had eight points five rebounds along with an assist, a block and a steal in 23 minutes of play.
