Dodgers finish regular season with win

Dodgeville's baseball team wrapped up its regular season with a non-conference win over Six Rivers West team Belmont.
Belmont was not an easy mark and had a 2-0 lead before the Dodgers scored. They later led 4-2.
"They hit the ball as well as any team," said coach Luke Wiegel. "It was a good win."
And win the Dodgers did.
The final score was 10-6 thanks to a pair of four run innings--the fifth and sixth.
The Dodgers pounded out four hits in the fifth with the highlight a blast by Austin Larson that traveled over the right fielders head, bounced hard off the fence while the Dodgeville centerfielder was speeding to a triple. When the relay throw got past the infielder Larson continued on to score.
That seemed to ignite the Dodgers. After two outs, Jordan Olson and Brian Simmons both reached on errors then Travis Hendrickson singled for a run. Aaron Dowling and Jordan Larson also singled in runs and when it was over the score was 6-4 and the Dodgers never looked back.
Austin Larson started it over again in the sixth when he walked and later scored on a wild pitch. Trent Jones singled and stole second then Levi Nagel walked. Walks by Simmons and Hendrickson led to a run then Jordan Larson singed for two more.
Austin Larson was 2x3 with a triple and double and Jordan Larson was 2x2 with three rbis. Trent Jones was 2x4 and knocked in a run.
Hendrickson had an rbi single and Levi Nagel drove in a run with an infield grounder.
Logan Yeager singled for the 10th Dodgeville hit.
Simmons worked the first four innings and left with the score tied at 4-4. Jordan Olson went the last three and picked up the win.
Both Dodgeville pitchers fanned two and Olson issued a walk. Simmons gave up six hits and Olson seven. All the runs were unearned thanks to five Dodgeville errors.
