"After the delay and eventual postponement on Tuesday, we were ready to go on Wednesday. I'd have to say that we (coaching staff) exceeded our expectations as a team and the number of athletes we got through to the sectional Championship in Viroqua on Friday," said Dodge-Poin coach Joe Hanson.
"The girls won the Regional Championship for the second straight year and the Boys were 3rd. As a staff, we set up the meet to try and get as many kids to move on and the team scores are an after thought. Although we knew if things went well, we would finish high as a team," he added.
"A couple years ago we brought in Coach Palzkill, Coach Matt McGraw and Coach Van Dyn Hoven to join myself, Coach Tolzman and Coach Denny McGraw. I knew that with their knowledge and commitment to the Track and Field program, we would soon have a complete team. Look at the results. We have sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers, throwers, relay teams and distance runners going to the Sectional championships. To say I'm proud of our athletes and my co-coaches would be a massive understatement," Hanson went on saying.
"Special mention to our boys 4 x 400 relay team of Jonah Nelson, Ryan Raess, Markus Ellermann and Jack Schickel who broke the school record with a time of 3:28.57."
