One pocket area on County ZZ, north of Dodgeville, probably had nearly 300 trees in it and now if there are 50 standing that might be a push!

This Friday starts the tournament trail for a lot of the Babe Ruth teams. The 15 year olds invade Dodgeville's Centennial Park trying for a state championship that will earn them the right to go on for more play. Their next stop would be at the Ohio Valley Regional with that winner heading to the "World Series". The following week, starting on the 17th, will be an Ohio Valley Regional here, at Centennial Park. Only this one will feature 16-18 year olds vying for a trip to the "World Series".

Oh, there is still help needed for the tournaments in many ways - field work, announcing, scorekeeping, concessions, tickets. Just let me know who and we'll let you know when and where!

It pretty much took cousin Jeanette, from Atlanta, to organize a mini-Reilly Reunion Saturday. We were at the Lions Shelter at Centennial Park - right next to Reilly Field (pretty fitting). We had about 35 people there, which wasn't too bad for it being the 4th weekend. I was the cook and nobody got sick (as far as I know) and everybody went home filled up and pretty happy to see their relatives - some for the first time! Cousin Dick came from North Carolina for a few days too.

Cousin Jeanette picked up a few cookies from my favorite bakery - the "No So" Quality Bakery. She mentioned somebody giving her the one fingered wave from out of the back room! I wonder who that could've been!

Jeanette returned the "favor" the next day when she stoped to pick up the cookies. I sent the few that were left over back to Muscatine, Iowa with son Michael. He said if any reached home, he'd share with his wife - Jolisa. He, too, met a lot of cousins he hadn't ever seen before!

I (we all) lost a great lady Kathryn McGraw last week. In so many ways she was like a mother to me!
