Three classmates at Dodgeville High School became Eagle Scouts at the same time Sunday at ceremonies held at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church - Kory Beerkircher, Kevin Houck and Jacob Recob. They each completed pretty special projects that will remain a part of the community(s) for a long, long time. The three are featured on our "Spotlight" page this week, so be sure to check it out for "the rest of the story". Above the three (l-r, Jacob, Kevin and Kory) are shown after receiving their awards.

The Dodgeville Lions Club is starting promotion on a fundraising event that will be held in April. It will be held at Dodger Bowl and involves a $50 ticket to be purchased. Only 300 will be sold and one in every 10 who attend will get their money back as well as be eligible for some pretty good prizes, including a lot of CASH. There will also be other raffles, a silent auction and other fun stuff going on. This kind of thing has been held in other area communities and there is a waiting list for each one of them. $50 sounds kind of high, but you get a meal and drink plus you can walk away with something and have a good time plus you'll be helping out a great organization. Besides, when you go out to eat, how much does your bill come to?

The annual Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce banquet is coming up on Thursday, January 30th at the Dodger Bowl. There will be some special businesses and people recognized and it's a good time to talk with other business people as well as have a good time!

Towards the end of this coming summer, August 21-22-23, Dodgeville's annual Sidewalk Sale (Maxwell Street Days) will be held in the downtown area. Bill Wall (Kozelka & Wall) is heading up the project and is looking for people to be vendors to fill the sidewalk with merchandise. It is hoped to have businesses from the north, south, east and west side of Dodgeville - and outside of the community - participate downtown if they choose! Contact him with any of your concerns.
