Dodgers shut out Pec-Argyle 81-0

When you only have eight wrestlers and three of them are out it makes it tough to compete against any team.
That's what the Pecatonica-Argyle team faced when they came to Dodgeville Thursday night - and it was parent's night for the Dodgers,
When the mats were cleared the final score read Dodgeville 81 Pec-Argyle 0.
The Dodgers registered four pins on the night coming from 145 lb. Jordan May, 160 lb. Zach Weber, 195 lb. Brady Wetter and 285 lb. Payton Calvert.
The other win came from 120 lb. Brock Wilson at 9-4 when he avenged an earlier in the season pin from Pec-Argyle's Casey Phillips.
"It was a rough night for us," said Pec-Argyle coach Mike Pittz. "But when you have three guys out, it's tough to compete."
The coach said, "Casey, at 120, put his guy on his back, but couldn't quite get it done - but he looked good."
"Aubrey and Trevor both just got caught in moves. They need more experience out on the mat" he added. "I'm proud of Cameron. He moved up from 182 to wrestle a very good kid in Wetter. Schild needs more mat time at heavyweight."
"We have one guy out with the flu, another with a hip flexor and another is recovering from mono. Hopefully we'll have two back by Mid-States the 29th and 30th," Pittz concluded.
Dodgeville coach Tim Wunnicke said, "It was good to see Jordan May get his first win as a freshman on varsity. Also, you have to hand it to the kid who wrestled Brady. It says a lot for him to move up a weight to take Brady on for the experience."
"Brock had a huge win against a kid who had pinned him earlier in the year and Payton looked very good tonight. Also Zach looked very good in his pin."
"Down the road, these freshmen (12 on the team) getting this experience should really help us," Wunnicke said.
"We do really miss Tyler (Wunnicke)," he added. "We need him as an anchor in the middle of the line-up." (he's out with a leg injury)
Wunnicke also said that after Bi-State there will be some shifts in the line-up.
