Dodgers control Lady Chieftains

Dodgeville's girls basketball team could never pull away from Riverdale for a comfortable margin last Tuesday night in a non-conference test but they were able to earn a 60-52 win.
A short rally at the end of the game by the Chieftains closed the gap to its final margin but Dodgeville's balanced attack took care of any potential problems.
Megan Pluemer controlled the middle and took advantage of an open lane created by Riverdale's 2-2-1 zone. She finished the night with 16 points and made six of seven free throws.
Taylor Stanek and Hannah Jones led the attack from the guard slots with 12 and 11 points.
Amanda Meister led Riverdale with 17 points and Autumn Noble added 16.
Dodgeville coach Mark Dooley said Stanek and Samantha Crowley had some big moments for the Dodgers and was pleased with how the team played.
"It was a night when everyone stepped up," he said.
