Son Michael made a short trip to Dodgeville Saturday from his newest home - Muscatine, Iowa. Yes, he's still a Hawkeye, but very much a Badger fan most of the time. He's still a Yankees baseball fan. I've tried to convert him, but to no avail. He is planning to go to St. Louis in the near future to see the Yankees play the Cardinals. He did want to come to Milwaukee to catch the Yankees when they play the Brewers, but he has a wedding to go to that weekend. His wife Jolisa texted him when we were eating at Bob's BBQ (the place he wanted to eat) and told him she was on a stakeout waiting for a guy other cops were chasing on foot. She said she'd rather be doing the chasing! He's doing well with HyVee in Muscatine - just getting a raise and promotion, but said his new boss was not fun!

We made a short run to Black Earth to the Shoe Box as Michael needed some work shoes. He was going to stop at Kohl's in Dubuque on his way back, but I told him the Steve at the Shoe Box was a good friend and advertiser. He found a great pair of black "tennis" shoes that he could wear for both work and running!

Three times while he was driving, he stopped for pedestrians in the crosswalks while here - and he's from Iowa! Twice he did so in Dodgeville and noticed that a couple of Wisconsin cars didn't stop. I told him it was Saturday and some people think you don't have to stop for pedestrians on the weekend!!! Just kidding! He also stopped for people to cross when leaving the Shoe Box. He couldn't believe there was still some snow along the roadsides while driving from here to Mount Horeb. When he returned to Muscatine that evening, he texted me that the temperature there was 82 degrees!

The Dodgeville Lions Club held its first annual "Fun Night" Saturday night. We fed some 250 people at the Dodger Bowl and gave away some $5500 in cash prizes as well as a bunch of other great prizes, including things like a refrigerator, lawn mower, courtside UW-Badger basketball tickets, gift certificates, TV, etc. There was also a band playing after the drawings. People said it was fun night. See the above photo for some of the crowd that was there.

This weekend is Easter weekend. It's a great time to spend some quality time with family and friends. It's also the end of spring break for Dodgeville students. The weather is supposed to be "iffy" (cold and rain) this week, but Easter is supposed to be pretty sunny and around 60 degrees!
