Cardinals sweep Cassville
The Cardinals raised their Six Rivers West record to 3-2 with a sweep over Cassville Thursday. Scores were 25-17, 25-11 and 25-21.
"We played OK," said coach Maria Wineski. "But we know we can play better yet. We struggled some with our passing but not with our character. We battled through it and got the win."
Wineski said Shanaya Hebgen got the team going in the second game by serving them to a 9-0 lead. Hebgen had five aces on the night and put up 19 assists.
"She served well and got the ball to our hitters," Wineski said.
Caitllyn Wienkes had 21 digs as she spent much of the night on the floor.
"She played a very good back row," Wineski said.
Janel Laufenberg was the kills leader with nine.
"She played a good front row," said Wineski.
"It was nice to win in three for the first time this year," she said.
