Dodgers take tourney in prep for the SWC


Dodgeville's volleyball team took first place at Six Rivers Tournament as they warmed up for Thursday's SWC match with defending champion River Valley.
The Dodgers beat Juda 25-14, 25-23 and then tripped up Potosi 25-23, 25-22.
Moving to the Gold Bracket the Dodgers tripped Monticello 25-20, 24-26 and 15-13 then took tourney honors 25-10 and 25-20 over Darlington.
Brooke Lee lead the team with 35 kills and eight service aces.
Taylor Stanek had 23 kills and five aces.
Kristi Bramlett had 19 kills.
Alexa Bohnsack had 13 kills and two aces
Freshman Kara Crowley had 59 assists and 4 service aces.
Megan Pluemer played a strong back row and served six aces.
"This tournament was a nice way to begin our season! There were even smiles on the court, and it's great to see the girls having fun," coach Cathy Bramlett said. "We are still learning to play with this mix of girls, and I'm proud of how well they are doing thus far."
