Dodgers have lead at best part of the game

With 2:23 left in the game and Platteville holding a 45-41 lead Dodgeville senior quarterback Austin Larson knew there was only one thing to do.
Score.
And Larson did just that, reeling off 16 yards on a keeper that eventually proved to be the game winner.
Jake Hanson added the extra point and all that was left to do was keep Platteville from scoring and hold the 48-45 lead.
It was Dodgeville's first lead of the game and as it turned out, the best lead.
Scoring seemed to spread like wildfire in the game, especially for senior running back for the Hillmen BJ Cooley who scored five touchdowns while carrying the football 29 times for 162 yards. He scored three times from a yard out, once from the three and once from the 13.
The Hillmen also got a score from Ryan Weber on a one yard carry and a 32 yard field goal from James Bailie.
Dodgeville spread the scoring around with Larson's arm having a lot to do with it. He completed 14 of 26 passes for 420 yards and two touchdown passes to Cris Francia, one to Logan Yeager and one to Jason Gullickson, all coming at key times to answer Platteville scores.
Gullickson was a thorn for the Hillmen all night, constantly getting behind the defenders. He caught six passes for 172 yards.
Yeager was the ball carrying workhorse with 120 yards on 26 attempts.
Larson also scored on a two yard run and Brady Wetter got into the end zone for the Dodgers from 12 yards out.
A botched onside kick by the Hillmen and a late Dodgeville interception also ended their chances.
"The victory was a huge confidence builder for our program," said coach Ryan Bohnsack. "We didn't play perfect but did enough positive things down the stretch to get the victory."
There were some key things that Bohnsack said the Dodgers were able to do.
"The line didn't give up any sacks, they provided excellent protection and gave the running backs enough of a gap to compile quality yards," he said. "Defense and special teams struggled to consistently get something going, but when it really mattered we recovered an onside kick and came up with a huge sack and interception."
Bohnsack said the win came against a very quality opponent.
"The Hillmen are a powerful, well coached team and I am sure they have circled the 4th of October rematch in Dodgeville," he said.
It won't get any easier for the Dodgers as they have another tough opponent Friday.
"We host River Valley Friday night and they are playing extremely well. It should prove to be another physical football match up," Bohnsack said.
