Dodgers tame Richland Center in SWC final

The crowd went wild, especially when the Richland Center volleyball team picked up a win in the third game but the Dodgers used an old trick to survive.
They tuned them out.
And when they did the Dodgeville volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win in their SWC finale and set the stage for their post season.
The Dodgers took the first two games 25-22 and 25-16 before the Hornets settled in with a 25-18 win. The two teams traded points in the fourth game but the Dodgers ended it, 25-20.
The Dodgers were impressive at the net but their was none better than senior Brooke Lee. She slammed out 21 kills, served six aces, took part in nine blocks and surpassed double figures in digs with 10.
Taylor Stanek had 11 kills, an ace serve, three blocks and 11 digs.
Alexa Bohnsack had nine kills, a block and two digs.
Kristi Bramlett had five kills and six blocks.
Megan Pluemer had two kills, served three aces, had three blocks and eight digs.
Courtney Cushman had seven digs.
Kara Crowley had three aces, three digs and 38 assists.
"We're improving on our ability to stay focused and finish," said coach Cathy Bramlett. The crowd at Richland Center is loud and distracting, and I'm proud that we kept our intensity up and worked together. "
"Richland Center had several strong runs on us with tough serving and scrappy defense," Bramlett added. "We really moved our feet well and played defense when we needed it most. "
The match was the end of the season for the JV and Varsity Reserve.
"As the season closes for Junior Varsity and Varsity Reserve, I'm impressed with the improvement from our coaches and so many players," Bramlett said. "Many of them are asking for information on opportunities to play in the off-season and ways to individually make them a stronger player. They ask about plyometrics to improve their vertical, volleyball clubs in the area, and weight room routines. This kind of commitment and dedication is exactly what we need to continue to build Dodgeville's volleyball program."
