"We weren't able to win (at Barneveld) but the girls played hard and I believe we turned in what was our best performance of the season - thus far," noted first year Pecatonica volleyball coach Tori Leonard.
"We switched line-ups tonight - had Julia Meyer on the outside and she played well from there. We also had girls coming off the bench tonight to make contributions and who played hard overall, especially in helping each other out on the court."
"Where we got ourselves into trouble in the first game was that although we played competitively early, we seemed to get tired. Our opponents adjusted to what we had been doing and they began to find open spots on the volleyball court that we simply weren't able to cover," added Leonard.
"As the games progressed, at times, we communicated better and talked to one another - moving as needed to defend, a component of the game we've been continually emphasizing in practice."
Barneveld has a bye Thursdaay and goes to Argyle Tuesday.
Pecatonica travels to Monticello Thursday before hosting Black Hawk on Tuesday.
