Dodge-Point coach Joe Hanson commented on the event saying, " "Under nearly ideal conditions for a track and field meet in early May, our teams preformed outstanding tonight. Both Boys and Girls placed first for the second consecutive year. To say the coaches were pleased would be an understatement. Always strong in the mid-distance and distance events, we are also gaining a reputation as a very good sprint and sprint relay team. I'm very impressed with Coach Palzkill and Coach (Matt) McGraw and their ability to train, motivate and peak these athletes. Our Boys team scored in 15 of the possible 18 events and the Girls 11. We never used to be able to say that. Thanks to Coach Tolzman and his athletes, we are scoring crucial points in the throwing events. Those are things that good teams do.
"The "Sparky" Reynolds Memorial meet is one that the Coaches and athletes circle on the schedule as it is the beginning of our "Big" competitions. The venue is also the sight of our WIAA sectional meet on May 23rd. The meet itself is one that we look forward to each year. Greg Bell, the meet manager and his staff do an incredible job hosting one of the best track meets in Southwest Wisconsin year after year. "
"Trevor Wunnicke was named Athlete of the meet with his three gold medals, two relays and one individual. Mairin Cahill was edged out by one vote for the Girls Athlete of the meet. She had two individual gold medals. Both Boys and Girls 4 x 800 relays shattered meet records and put themselves in great position for the WIAA tournament starting Monday, May 20th."
