I-G softball takes two from Boscobel
The first game was scoreless until the Panthers pushed across a tally in the sixth. Unfortunately, Boscobel answered in the bottom of the seventh.
Iowa-Grant scored again in the 10h, but the Lady Bulldogs answered again in their half.
The Panthers then put on their rally caps with Lara Daentl walking, Taylor Jackson singling and Daentl scoring the winning run on a wild pitch. Brittany Lawinger singled in Jackson with an insurance run.
Brea Stanton set down Boscobel witout a run for the 4-2 win.
She struck out two, walked one and was 2x4 at the plate.
Lawinger went 3x6 as did Ashley Liddicoat. Rheann Engelke and Jackson both were 2x5 with doubles.
Boscobel had Cassie Wunnicke work 5 1/3 with three strikeouts and no walks. Johnson went the rest of the way without a strikeout, but walking four.
Taylor King was 2x4 for the Lady Bulldogs.
Game two was tied 7-7 going into the bottom of the seventh when Engelke doubled, went to third on a wild pitch and after two intentional walks scored on a single by Stanton.
Kylie Moneypenny was 2x3 as was Stanton with two RBI. Daentl also was 2x3 with a triple. Jackson and Engleke had two baggers.
Stanton fanned six and walked one in getting the win.
Boscobel's Johnson went two innings with Wunnicke going the final five and taking the loss.
Cabreara was 2x4 with a double and Esters 3x4 with a triple. Glassbrenner went 2x4.
These were two big wins for us," Fulton said.
