Barneveld gets by Argyle softball

It wan an old fashioned pitcher's duel Tuesday night, but Barneveld's softball team came out on the right end of a 4-2 decision at Argyle in Six Rivers action.
Eagle Kristen Udelhofen struck out four, walked one and gave up one earned run on nine hits.
Argyle's Jessica Treuthardt fanned four, walked three and allowed four runs on nine hits.
For the Eagles, Taylor Owens was 2x4 with an RBI and Udelhofen also was 2x4 with a triple. Cayla Carden went 3x3 and Kaitlyn Walker was 2x3.
Rachel Slaney rapped a double in four trips and Hailey Kleppe came up with a fielders choice RBI.
Argyle's Jenna Langmeier and Alysha Monahan both were 2x4. Amber Dammen had a double.
"Argyle has a nice team and put the ball in play often," said Barneveld coach Craig Neuroth. "The turning point was the bottom of the 5th when Argyle had bases loaded and nobody out, but we got out of it without giving up a run and then put up 2 in the 6th. It has been a few years since we won down there and I don't think we beat them at all last year. This was a team victory and we will work to get better at practice and continue our solid play."
"It was a well played game," said Argyle coach Dan Treuthardt. "We just couldn't seem to get that clutch hit. We had base runners in scoring position in every inning.
