A Thank You
By J. Patrick Reilly-preilly@thedodgevillechronicle.com
We let her have the editorial for her last week with us. Jean retired last week after a career that spanned just short of 30 years.
Jean could never be classified as a "tech expert." She spent some of her time getting help with something she lost or in most instances it "misplaced itself."
We had a good time with her over that.
What she could be classified as is an expert at turning out a wonderful story each week about someone or something on the back page of the Chronicle. She wrote our Spotlight page.
It wasn't so much what she wrote about as it was how she wrote it. She could find the little facts that made the story complete. She could find the whole story.
I told her last week on her last day here that she had a way of helping people realize how special they are. I told her it is because she is special.
We will find a way to have someone else assume Jean's responsibilities. But we can never find someone to replace her.
She is the true meaning of "one of a kind."
Thank you so much Jean for your dedication and your wonderful work over the many years you were with us.
You made your mark and you left it on all of us.
