A lot of us "old guys" have been in contact with Rick Birk, a fellow who is writing about the history of Dodgeville Basketball back in the state tournament years of 1963-64. He is looking for a ticket stub from the Dodgeville-Milwaukee North championship game in 1964. Being a reporter/manager at that time, I don't have one. But if anyone out there has one we'd like to scan it and send it to him for the book. Any takers, contact me please!

In the book there's also a mention of Dodgeville's first golf team (1962) of which I was a member! I have been retired from golfing for over 15 years due to the fact that I could never get any better from my high school days to the time I retired!

The usual time of Iowa County FARMERS APPRECIATION DAY has been changed for this summer. Just to give everyone a little advanced notice, it will be Sunday, July 21st at Harris Park. The Dodgeville Firemans Dance will be that Friday night with fireworks scheduled for that evening (at dusk) also. There are also plans to hold activities on Saturday to make a complete weekend of it! There will be more information coming later.

I missed going to a wedding reception down south in the Atlanta area. My cousin Melanie (nee Marty) and Mitch were married a while back, but had a reception during the girls state basketball tournament in Green Bay. It's probably a good thing I didn't go because I would've just been setting up chairs the whole time I was there! That seems to be my "Atlanta" job when I'm in the area!

There have been glitches in the openings of two Dodgeville businesses. It seems that the "Wild Weasel" thart was supposed to open last week will open in a week or so. That's the new organic/health food spot at the corner of Diagonal and North Division Street. Then work has stopped for awhile at the former Dodgeville Truck Stop building, but should resume soon. They were shooting for an April16th opening, but that may be delayed some.

I guess the opening of my late buddy's daughter's antique place - Time and Again Vintage - went really well last week. Terry (Crubaugh) Olson opened on the south side of Linens & Accents with her treasures and had to keep stocking the walls, shelves and floor after each day Thursday, Friday and Saturday!

It's my understanding that any baseball, softball, track and soccer games/matches that can't be held inside or way down south have been cancelled for this week. Actually, the teams will be lucky if they can play outside around here by the middle of April the way the weather pattern has been going. We had snow flurries pretty much all day on Sunday - not amounting to much, but not helping the melting either!
