Don't miss it

By J. Patrick Reilly-preilly@thedodgevillechronicle.com

This will be a short discussion about "wow, sorry I missed it."
Granted summer is a busy time and it is almost impossible to get to everything that is going on in our communities. But, sometimes people have a tenancy to decide not to do something because it is too hot or they are too tired. The end result is they miss something they may have enjoyed.
There have been two state baseball tournaments in Dodgeville over the past couple weeks. One I was in charge of. The other I helped with and was proud to be a spectator when the team my grandson played on was competing. The one thing I noticed was there are a lot of people who, like me, are baseball fans who did not attend.
I hope it did not come down to "too hot or to tired." I say that because there has been some great baseball played with some really good kids playing it.
Ever watch a 9 or 10 year old kid play at the highest level possible? Or a 16 to 18 year old kid who wants to take his game to the college level? It is, for lack of a better term, fun to watch.
Knowing baseball is not everyone's thing, there are many things to choose from to do that will not have a huge cost associated with it.
There are the Dodgeville fireworks this Friday and also the annual Fireman's Dance. There is Farmers Appreciation Day Sunday. There is Iowa County Fun Night tonight at Centennial Park.
And, there is the annual Rewey Fireworks Saturday.,
And that is just this week.
My advice... don't let the hot weather keep you from attending. And get some rest.
Don't want you to be too tired to attend.....and enjoy.
