Dodger girls' offense falters
"Platteville is a good team. They came out and made us do things we really didn't want to be doing," he added. Early on in our first 15 possessions, we had six turnovers. We couldn't establish anything early on."
He was referring to the point that his team trailed quickly and was down 13-8 at the end of quarter one and 23-15 by halftime.
They didn't have much success scoring in the third frame as they garnered only eight points, but did hold the Lady Hillmen to 10.
Platteville senior Juila Lawinger was the terror on the court for her team as she scored 10 first half points and 13 in the second to have a game-high 23. Senior teammate Julia Lawinger added 10.
The Dodgers were paced by sophomore Taylor Stanek, whose 20 points accounted for nearly as many as the rest of her teammates scored. She hit 15 in the second half.
"Defense kept us in the game tonight," Busch said. "We just couldn't find anything that would work offensively."
"It's a setback for us, but there are a lot of games to be played yet. We'll regroup and get ready for the next one," the coach concluded.
The loss drops the Dodgers to two games behind co-leading Platteville and Prairie du Chien.
The Dodgers host River Valley Friday night and then Darlington comes in for a non-conference battle the following Tuesday.
