Dodgers win SWC test, lose to Brodhead


Dodgeville's girls basketball team won their SWC game with Prairie du Chien then lost a non-conference battle with a tough opponent at Brodhead.
Taylor Stanek and Samantha Crowley both put in 12 points and Megan Zoet added 11 at the Dodgers rolled to a 61-48 win over Prairie du Chien. A 12-4 first quarter set the tempo.
The Dodgers led 42-22 after three quarters then the tempo picked up in the fourth as the Blackhawks put in 26 points and Dodgeville 19.
At Brodhead, Division 1 recruit Carly Mohns ran into foul trouble and eventually left the game with five personals but scored 10 points along the way. Kylie Moe added 12 and Amber Pickel led the Cardinals with 13. Brodhead took the win, 56-50.
Samantha Crowley led all scorers with 16 points while Brooke Lee had 12 and Kara Crowley 10.
