Dodgers, Pointers compete at Black Hawk


Dodgeville wrestlers finished third and Mineral Point's Varsity Reserve took 11th Saturday at the 14-team Black Hawk Invitational.
Dodger sophomore Brady Wetter placed first at 170 while senior Sam Gollon took the top spot at 195. Mineral Point's Brandon Forseth won the 138 lb. division.

"I was told the kids wrestled hard,"said Pointer coach Scott Schmitz. "We had two freshmen competing as well as two first year wrestlers and all but one placed."
He mentioned Forseth's championship and the fact he was named the tournament MVP.
"That speaks pretty well for a guy who has trouble making our varsity," Schmitz pointed out. "We try to work guys around in our duals to try and get him a spot."
He also talked about Baker, Schmitz and Sanchez saying, "our top four guys did a nice job."
