Also this weekend is the 3-Day Recycling event to be held the 22nd through the 24th at Harris Park. There will also be some garage sales going on inside Ley Pavilion those days.

Sunday was the 2nd of the summer Dodgeville Lions Club Flea Market and Antique Show at Harris Park. The vendors were down a little as was the attendance, but in all the vendors were pretty happy by the end of the day. I helped move people in on Saturday evening, helped purchase supplies, worked the concession stand some and packed up tables after it was over. Sunday night I was pretty much all in! Oh, there were a bunch of other Lions who were there as much (if not more) than me! And the Lioness sold out of their delicious pies fairly early in the day!

Also on Sunday there was a 12th birthday party for great-niece Danielle Roh - Shelly's daughter. We had prety much all of the family in attendance - Darren, Ryan, Kelly, Amy and their families. I sure don't remember getting the kind of gifts she got when I was 12! But then I'm a boy!

With everything happening on Sunday, I only made it over to the Cobb Corn Roast celebration on Saturday. I think that's the first time I didn't take in the parade in - well let's say - a long, long time! Check out the photo above showing some volleyball being played!

The first football game for the area high schools will take place Friday night, but the first soccer (boys) match beat it by one night and will take place on Thursday. Then, cross country and volleyball will follow very soon after. There will be a lot taking place before schools start just after Labor Day!

I didn't get to spend much time with cousin Jeanette and her husband Jack Marty this past week. We seemed to be going in different directions and I guess it's only fitting that when they drive all the way from Atlanta to Wisconsin that they spend some time with his side of the family! Speaking of driving all the way from Atlanta - what do you think he meant when he said that he drove through town just hoping to see me crossing the street?

Hey, it's only two weeks until the Iowa County Fair held at the fairgrounds in Mineral Point. Like they always say - "It's your fair, be there!
