While we're on service organizations - the Dodgeville Lions Club will hold their second (and final of the season) Antique Show and Flea Market Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a lot of vendors from all over the state (and some out of state) plus a food stand that will feature the Dodgeville Lioness pies! All the money raised goes to support local projects, scholarships, eyes and hearing.

The Cobb Corn Boil, complete with FREE sweet corn, parade, fast pitch softball and plenty of fun and games for the kids will be held this weekend with ball games beginning earlier. There always a great parade on Sunday afternoon, followed by the eating of corn!

Saturday was "pool party" day at my nephew Ryan's house as three birthdays were celebrated - all three being cousins. My great-niece McKenna was one of them. The pool got plenty of activity with the adults pretty much sitting around and talking and keeping an eye on the youngsters. Me, I watched the PGA golf tournament most of the time and of course ate the food!

Speaking of parties - Sunday my aunt Darlene Reilly hosted a good share of her family and my cousins at her house in Dodgeville. Cousin Jeanette is here from Atlanta with her husband Jack (Marty - originally from Darlington). Cousin Jeanne and her husband Joe (Halverson - originally from Dodgeville) and their son Aaron and wife Colleen and their two kids made the trek from Richland Center. Again, I enjoyed the food and, of course, the good conversation and catching up with relatives.

Friday night I went to the Mineral Point Regional High School Rodeo as I had too much going on during both Saturday and Sunday to take it in during those day performances. That was my first time for an evening performance. I was waiting for Kimmy Cleary to take a run at a few events. She's a Mineral Point cowgirl who is a past rodeo queen - only to find out that she had an attack of appendicitis and had to be operated on that day. Above is a photo of Dodgeville's Rylee Dressler carrying in one of the flags during opening ceremonies.
