Dodge-Point track teams compete at indoor championships


Dodgeville-Mineral Point's track & field team had several runners and one high jumper compete in last weekend' WTFA State Indoor Chapionships held in Whitewater.
Mairin Cahill, sophomore distance runner, scored her team's lone point of the day when she finished 8th in the 1600 run in a time of 5:14.88
Teammate Anna Eisenzimmer also competed in that event, finishing 21st in 5:24.79.
Neenah's Alison Parker was the 1600 wwinner in 5:03.29.
Mary Hanson, Brittany Rhyner and Emily Philipps all ran in the 800 run. Hanson took 23rd in 2:29.6 with Rhyner finishing 27th in 2:30.99. Philipps was 59th in 2;38.83.
Talia Spiegelberg of Wisconsin Lutheran won in 2:19.23.
The 4x400 relay team of Hanson, Ryhner, Philipps and Kennedy Stumpf took 24th in 4:23.67.
Milwaukee Riverside was the event winner in 4:06.33.
Mikalah Bakker finished 37th in the 400 in 1:07.42.
Milwaukee King's Tahtyana Peersel wwin in :57.1.
Taylor Stanek jumped 5' in the high jump to tie for 10th.
Sun Prairie's Tierney Lindner won atMilwaukee King won the event with65 points with Richland Center 29th with 4 points and Cuba City in a 46th place tie with Dodge-Point with 1 point.
The boys' team failed to score a point, but had some good performances.
Jack Schickel finished 16th in the 400 in 53.23.
Sam Tiahnybik won in 49.24.
Jonah Nelson was 25th in the 800 in 2:03.94 with Ian Ewers 31st in 2:04.82.
Monroe's Ethan Moehn won in 1:56.81.
Trevor Wunnicke finished 16th in the 1600 with a time of 4:35.24.
Arrowhead's Ben Bierman won in 4:23.95 with Darlingtn's Tyson Miehe 2nd in 4:25.75.
The Dodge-Point 4x400 relay team of Nelson, Ewers, Wunnicke and Schickel did not finish their run.
Dodge-Point coach Joe Hanson said about the event, "Coaches were extremely pleased with the results. For everyone except Trevor it was their first and only indoor meet of the year and for a few it was their first indoor meet ever. I cannot stress enough how well these kids ran and jumped today against the best track and field athletes in the state. It was a big step in the right direction for our teams."
