I only have just a touch of snow left in my front yard as of this weekend. The nights have been a little warmer, so that makes for a little more melting during the night and earlier in the morning. I figure I may be able to rake the lawn by the end of next week - it's supposed to rain almost every day this week! In fact, at this point, there may even be some "snow" later in the week! OOPS - I said that nasty four letter word again!

The way the Milwaukee Brewers have opened up the season, they may've wished they were playing in a non-domed stadium - at least then they may have an excuse for playing the way they have! But I'm still a Brewers fan - I guess I'm a "homer" at heart!

There has been a lot of fuss over concussions in football and I guess other sports. With that in mind WHY do they have the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) sport and pounding of people until they seem almost dead? If there's any sport that should be outlawed, I feel that is the one. Give me a choice and I would carry a football into a bunch of would-be tacklers any day over that MMA stuff. Getting pounded on the head and in the face isn't my bag!

Spring high school games have been starting very slowly this year. As of this past weekend there have been just a few softball games, baseball games, soccer matches and only indoor track meets - no golf yet and I'm really not sure when!

I guess the round-a-bout isn't the means to use if you want to come from town and head north on Bennett Road going to DA Auto, Ederer's or on to Farm & Fleet or Mueller Implement. The other day I was doing just that heading to Ederer's Hardware. I was in the right lane to go around and head straight ahead to the north. The vehicles coming in from the East (Madison way) must not know there's a road that heads to the North off of the round-a-bout. There was a woman coming from the east who finally stopped her car just a few feet short of hitting my car in the passenger's side. WHEW!!!

I stopped at the newly opened Wild Weasel Natural Market in Dodgeville the other day and bought some organic steaks. Now all I have to wait for is my nephew Ryan to tell me how they tasted!

I received an email from Jerry and Dianne Jacobson. He's a Dodgeville grad and she's a Barneveld grad. They winter in Arizona. I guess we weren't the only ones suffering this winter!
Hi Mike: Received the Chronicle again today for one of the last few deliveries. Sure have enjoyed reading the paper every weekend when it arrives. This is the first winter we subscribed and has been fun keeping up with the local news and activities. Will subscribe again this coming winter. Had a good winter here in Tucson although it was cool this year. They said it was the worst winter in 30 years. Leaving for Dodgeville April 20th and arrive the 22th. Will see you then. Jerry and Dianne

Both the Wild Weasel and Ederer's Hardware are planning to hold Grand openings the same weekend down the road. There will be more on that later.
