Iowa-Grant/Highland's girls cross country team had an exciting race with Cuba City/Southwestern while the boys eased to a perfect 15-50 win Thursday night in a SWAL dual meet.
CC/SW's Haley Kammerude easily won the firls race in 18:04 with Panther Grace Enloe next in 19:25, followed by teammates Shania Sarbacker in 19:29 and Chakayla Stanek in 19:41.
Stanek nosed out CC/SW's Allison Timmerman (19:42) with CC/SW teammate Jessica Donar next in 20:49.
Panther Caitlyn Fowell took 7th in 22:14 with CC/SW's Sadie Oglesby next in 22:33 and I-G/H's Laura Ciesak 9th in 23:46.
In the boys race, I-G/H took the first 11 spots.
Jordan Jenks won easily in 18:19 with Kyle Bomkamp next in 19:20. Then came: Ethan McCracken 19:22, Charles Connolly 20:13, Micah Bomkamp 20:20, Shaun Soman 20:22, Cody Wall 20:30, Alex Pillow 20:42, Benjamin Connolly 20:46, Creighton Biddick 21:50 and Kyle Faull 21:56.
CC/SW had the bottom five places.
"The boys runners got out front right away and pushed each other as a team," said Panther coach Corey McCracken. "The girls team had an exciting finish with Chakayla Stanek grabbing 4th place by a foot, literally! Caitlyn Fowell also did very well considering she just joined the team the day before."
The meet was finished with a parents night ceremony.
