Blackhawks strike back to beat Dodgers


River Valley staked their claim on the SWC's top spot Friday with a 8-3 win over upset minded Dodgeville.
The Dodgers scored three runs in the top of the second to take an early lead. Brycen Pratt singled with two outs and Travis Hendrickson coaxed a walk. Logan Yeager stroked an rbi single to send in Pratt and Jasper Meeker plated the other two with a single.
The Blackhawks matched the three runs in the bottom of the third on three errors and an rbi double by Brandon Noble.
The Dodgers chased starter Quinn Thompson when he walked the first batter of the fourth. Junior left hander Adam Spurley then finished the game, holding the Dodgers scoreless while striking out six. He fanned the side in the top of the seventh.
Travis Jacobson decided the game with a two run home run over the right field fence in the fourth. He finished 3x3 for the Blackhawks with a double and a home run and Clay Nelson was 2x4 with a double.
The Dodgers were led by Meeker's 2x3, Pratt's 2x4 and Hendrickson's 2x2. Brett Binsfeld, Brian Simmons and Yeager all had one hit.
Nick Crowley got the start and worked three innings. He struck out one and walked one. Austin Larson finished, walking two and giving up four hits.
River Valley scored two earned runs off Crowley and Larson surrendered one.
