Dodgers close with league leaders , fall 4-2
With one out in the first, Kate Noble walked for Lancaster, stole second and came home on Taylor Holzingers single.
The Dodgers tied it in their half of the first when Samantha Crowley led off being safe on an error, Brooke Lee singled, Haley Jones was safe on a fielders choice and Courtney Cushman hit a sacrifice fly.
Lancaster scored twice more in the fifth and once in the seventh.
The Dodgers could only counter with a double by Faith Loy in the fourth. She scored on a passed ball.
They had three singles in the seventh, but could not score.
Sam Arnold struck out nine and walked six while allowing three earned runs on seven hits for the Dodgers.
Noble, Holzinger and Andrea Duncan each had two safeties for the Arrows.
Duncan fanned six and walked one while allowing one earned run on six hits for the Arrows.
Megan Dalsing had two hits for the Dodgers while Crowley, Lee, Loy and Jacque Rossing each had one.
"This was our best game of the season overall," said Dodger coach Gene Van Dyck. "We had a good shot at winning it, but just didn't close the deal."
"Megan Dalsing continued to hit well with Faith Loy and Samantha Crowley also looking good at the plate. Sam threw dominating ball for the first four innings. Cushman has really come along at the catcher position, putting an end to their running game and both Lee and Dalsing were solid in the field."
