Dodgers learn in RV loss

It was a learning experience for the young Dodgeville baseball team when River Valley beat them 18-2 in a SWC game Friday.
The positive was the game went all seven innings.
The negative was the Blackhawks were able to send in eight runs in the top of the seventh to do the major damage.
Home runs by Travis Jacobson and Carter Hoffman caused the Dodgers some problems as both were two run shots. Hoffman finished the game 3x4, adding a double and knocking in four runs. Jacobson plated three and was 2x4.
The Blackhawks unleashed a 16 hit attack. Also getting multiple hit games were Clay Nelson with a 3x5 day with two doubles, Brandon Noble who was 2x4 with a double with Quinn Thompson and Brandon Hogan who were 2x5. Thompson also doubled.
Jacobson took the mound win with relief help from James Brey and Dilley.
Dodgeville's two runs came in the fifth. Matt Dougherty started it with a single and eventually scored on a wild pitch. Nick Crowley also scored after stroking a single and scoring on a Brian Simmons double.
The Dodgers had five hits in the game, one each by Dougherty, Simmons, Crowley, Travis Hendrickson and Austin Larson.
Larson, Simmons, Ryan Bell and Kristian Haag all took a turn on the mound.
