Kuhse, Voss compete at state for River Valley
"Congrats to Emma Voss and Alyssa Kuhse in their performances at the state meet Friday night," said Julie Kuhse, coach of the Blackhawks.
"On bars: Emma slipped on the low bar, causing a fall. Otherwise she had a clean routine," coach Kuhse said.
"On beam: Emma had a no fall routine on beam, but several balance checks. Alyssa had a fall on her back tuck that took her out of medaling position," said Kuhse.
"On floor: The state floor is really stiff and hard to tumble on for our girls," said coach Kuhse. "Emma handled it well and scored one of her top five scores of the season."
"On vault: Emma's vault was one of the best she had this season, but the score did not reflect it. A few extra steps on the landing," said coach Kuhse.
"We had hoped to come away with a medal or two, but that wasn't to be," the coach said. "The whole team was there and gained the experience of the state meet. We plan on being there as a team next year."
