Hanson, Wunnicke continue track success in post season competition

Trevor Wunnicke continued his track season when he traveled to Wisconsin Lutheran High School, the home of the Wisco Mile.
The Wisco Mile is a series of 1 mile races the include all levels of competitors. Trevor competed in and won the High School Boys Elite race, B section.
"Trevor ran a fantastic race and recorded his best 1600M time by about 8 seconds. His 4:22.83 for a full mile is equal to a 4:21.23 for 1600M and puts him as the third fastest 1600 meter runner In Dodge/Point history, behind Bruce and Tommy Schmitz. He ran a smart race and had his usual fast finish, it was the best race I've seen him run", said Dodge-Point coach Joe Hanson.
On Friday night, June 8th on the lighting fast Joliet Community Track and Stadium, Molly Hanson ran the fastest 2012 Girls prep 800 in Wisconsin with a 2:11.48 at the Midwest Distance Festival. According to Wissports.net, her time places her as the 7th fastest 800 meter runner in Wisconsin prep history.
The following day at the 2012 Senior Spotlight meet, held at the same venue, she was the lead off runner on the Wisconsin 4 x 800 relay that placed first in 9:40 34.
"I think Molly felt as though she still had something to prove in the 800 after her State meet performances where she won the 1600 with an outstanding time of 4:54.80, but placed 5th in the 800. Molly admitted that she was a bit disappointed with her 800 in La Crosse and I just think she felt there was some unfinished business that she wanted to take care of before ending her prep career. She walk off the track with a smile so I guess she was satisfied. I sure was", Hanson said about his daughter and former Dodge-Point runner.
