Boy, the end of school time and beginning of summer is sure a busy time! I went to the Iowa County Dairy Breakfast early Saturday morning so I could make it to the Dodgeville Federated Women's Club sponsored Bicycle Safety event at Harris Park that morning and then on to the Barneveld High School graduation yet in the morning. Then Sunday was Dodgeville's graduation. I also made a stop at the Iowa County historical Society on Sunday for the opening of the Floyd School. The ICHS is going to have it open with an open house with tours the first Sunday of the month for the summer.

At the dairy breakfast the food was really good, especially around 6:30 in the morning! There was a pretty good crowd already there and more coming in when we were leaving. I heard they pretty much ran out of food they had so many people. It's not a good thing to run out of food, but it's a good thing they had a huge turnout!

What a weekend for the Dodgeville-Mineral Point track & field teams. The boys team had a champion in Austyn Whitlatch - 110 hurdles - and finished second coming home with the silver trophy. The girls team had a champion in Molly Hanson - 800 meters - and just missed bringing back a trophy as they were one point out of second. Great job to all!

Thursday (tonight) is the Silver Anniversary Bloomfield Manor Healthcare "Balloon Fest". There are events going on starting at 5:00 p.m. with the parade pretty much culminating things at 8:00. This is always a lot of fun for the youngsters as well as the "young at heart"!

Another event takes place Saturday when the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and School will hold its annual "Parish Festival" that is open to the community and features a "fun run" that begins at 10:00 a.m. Events, food and fun will be held in the parking lot area until 8:00 that evening.

Also, the Iowa County Humane Society will hold "Farmhouse Concerts for Causes" when "Harmonious Wall" will play at 1998 State Road 23-151, between Dodgeville and Mineral Point) at the Bob Dalles Farm.

I have been thinking a lot about my "late buddy" Crubaugh lately. Boy I sure don't sleep well when I have nightmares!
