"It was another good day for the Dodge-Point teams," Dodge-Point coach Joe Hanson said.
"We are just very excited we got so many kids through the sectional and now on to La Crosse and the State Championships I expect we will score some points up there but for all these athletes just getting to La Crosse is an outstanding accomplishment. Our seniors have been a great example of how hard work and never giving up can pay off with some memories that will last a lifetime," he added.
"Again, the venue at Boscobel has proven to be the place to be for some of the best Track and Field in the state of Wisconsin. Getting an extra qualifier is next to impossible the way the WIAA system is set up. For example, in the Division 2 boys state meet, there were only 10 extra qualifiers in the entire state and 8 were from the Boscobel sectional. That's incredible," Hanson went on saying.
"Lastly, words can't describe how proud the coaching staff is of this years team. After disaster struck in that 4 x 800 at regionals when that official make an incredibly poor decision and disqualified our team, I thought it may have a negative effect on the team. But those girls have quickly bounced back and are still a big part of our state teams," he said in conclusion.
Events start at 12:30 on Friday for Division 2 with field events going first. Running events begin at 3:00. Saturday's times are 9:30 a.m. for field events with running events starting at 10:30 a.m.
All awards are given out on Saturday with the top six in each event reaching the podium.
