Dodgers win one at Prairie
Prairie's home court has always been a tough place to play for the Dodgers over the years.
The Dodgers won quarters one and three by a total of 10 points and that led to their 51-47 win.
Dodger senior Nick Crowley led all scorers on the night with 21 points, including a three pointer.
Junior Austin Larson added 12.
Prairie had three players hit double figures with Cole Pattison popping in 14, Isaac Moret adding 13 and Austin Roach contribuing 11. Moret hit three shots from downtown.
The Dodgers had the edge in two point field goals 17-13, from three point land 5-4 and at the free throw lne 12-9.
Prairie burned their final timeout of the game with 3:22 remaining on a loose ball and that impacted their final possession.
"This is a huge win for us," said Dodger coach Ryan bohnsack. "This one and Friday night's game (at Richland Center) are big."
"Again, it was a team effort tonight. We didn't shooot well, they outboarded us and we couldn't get our transition game going," the coach said. "Prairie probably gave us as tough a defense as we will see all year. It was a grinder game for both teams and we just made someplays when we had to down the stretch. Mitchell Olson picked off a pass with Austin Larson applying the pressure to force the errant pass."
The Dodgers are at Richland Center Friday night, go to Adams Friendship Saturday in non-conference action and host Boscobel Tuesday night in another non-conference contest.
