I got chewed out by cousin Jeanette for telling that she was in Wisconsin last week. I guess she wanted to be incognito about her trip here - don' know why, but....!

It's alway good seeing her since she made so many trips here during her high school years and then went to UW-Platteville. It was almost like she was here all of the time and she and her "northern" cousins and relatives became very close!

I had two driving experiences with my buddy drivers from the state to our west (IOWA) last week. The first happened when I was heading west on Highway 18. I was travelling along a 60 MPH, following another vehicle, when an IOWA licensed vehicle decided to pass us both. the only problem was that it was right at the end of a NO PASSING zone and there was a hill in front of us. Both me and the driver of the vehicle in front of me slowed down to let the IOWA driver in (hopefully) safely!
The second happened in a very peculiar spot. I was in the Dodgeville Walmart parking lot as I was walking between drive through passages to my car. An IOWA licensed vehicle decided to come down an up only lane and almost picked me off. I know I should've been looking for a vehicle coming along even though it was in the wrong, but after all it is a parking lot!

This coming weekend is going to be a busy one as the annual Iowa County Antique and Collectors Club will be holding a power show at the Iowa County Fairgrounds in Mineral Point on Saturday and Sunday. Also, St. Joseph Church in Dodgeville is holding a Motorcycle Drive on Sunday, along with there being brats and hot dogs at the church before and after the Drive. Events start at 11 a.m. with a bunch of Harleys taking off at noon with a chicken dinner being served that evening after the cycles arrive back to the church. Then, I will be working at the Dodgeville Lions Club Antiques and Flea Market at Harris Park in Dodgeville on Sunday. Signs have ot be put out around 6:30 a.m. and the food stand opens at 8:00 and goes until 3:00 p.m. There should be more than 60 vendors - several local - with a lot of good stuff. And the $2.00 admission goes to the club to help fund community projects, such as shelters at parks, dugouts, scholarships and more! The club and the city is planing to make a park at the Prairie Hills subdivision in the near future, complete with playground equipment and a shelter!

I was at the Ridgeway/Verona Home Talent Western Section championship play-off baseball game Sunday for the first four innings. At that point I thought the game may still be going Monday. Neither team could get the big hit when they needed to. In fact, Ridgeway had runners in scoring position each inning and nothing and Verona had the bases loaded with nobody out in the fourth and nothing either. Verona ended up breaking loose and coming up with the win to advance to the final four, but it didn't come easy. Good season Cardinals!
