Mohlmann's 3 rbis, May's pitching equals 4-2 Pointer win

Nick Mohlmann just might have taken offense at the fact Southwestern walked Logan Benish to get to him in the fifth.
So, the Pointer second baseman responded by lacing a two run single to give his team a 2-1 lead. His base hit sent in Lance Miller who had singled and Ian Ewers who reached on an error.
Southwestern had solo runs in the fifth and seventh which forced extra innings. But, the Wildcats did not answer the two runs the Pointers stuck on the board in the top of the eighth and the 4-2 count stood up for the win.
In case the Wildcats thought Mohlmann's two rbis in the sixth were flukes, he came up again with Benish on second after a double and singled him in with the eventual winning run.
Dakota Poad gave the Pointers an insurance tally, sending in Mohlmann who had stolen second, with the fourth Pointer run of the game.
Mohlmann was 2x4 for the game and drove in three runs. Miller also had a multiple hit game as he went 2x3.
Brock May went the distance to earn the win. He fanned seven, walked five and spaced nine hits. Both Southwestern runs were earned.
It was a great high school baseball game that was well played by both teams," said coach Dan Burreson. " I thought we did a number of little things all day that kept us in the game and gave us the opportunity to win. Logan made a nice play at short early in the game and made a nice relay on a throw from Dakota Poad to cut down a run at the plate. Nick Mohlmann did a great job at second turning a double play and making a number of other plays. Offensively Nick was also a hitting star going 2 x 4 and driving in three of our four runs. Dakota Poad had a big hit to drive in an insurance run and Lance Miller had a nice day at the plate."
Burreson was also pleased with May's complete game win.
"I cannot say enough good things about Brock's performance today," Burreson said. "Every time he takes the mound he gives us an opportunity to win."
"This was another good job by our guys continuing to battle today," Burreson added. "That was a big two out rally in the eighth to win."
